Consistent, high quality line management on a global scale


Jaguar Land Rover's ground breaking, and first truly international Great Line Manager programme was designed to give line managers the tools and techniques to help them make a real impact, and provide them with the confidence to drive performance.

Our objectives

Great Line Manager was delivered to 4,500 leaders around the world. Development needs analysis was carried out, to identify what leaders and managers needed to do differently to enable and sustain change. 

After consultation, key outputs included:

  • A global toolkit for all line managers, including best practice guidance on key activities
  • A flexible skills programme to upskill in key behavioural areas
  • An app to promote knowledge sharing and discussion, offer nudges and tips in line with the HR cycle plan

The Results

With t-three, Great Line Manager was delivered across 17 countries around the world including Australia, Russia and South Africa.

It has been extremely well received - 63% of users were active on the app, 98.5% positively agreed they would recommend the programme, and participants revealed a significant increase in self-awareness and confidence in their management skills thanks to GLM.

Through the Great Line Management programme, Jaguar Land Rover were able to mature the business to reflect their scale and complexity, as well as a shift in core capabilities.
