2025 Made Simple... Small Changes, Big Impact

t-three CEO Jill Jenkinson shares her thoughts on whether 2025 will be a year of even more complexity, an overload of everything, or a refreshing sprinkle of simplicity in the mix!

The festive break was (hopefully!) a chance to unwind, indulge in some chocolate, and enjoy time with your chosen few. But now that you’re back at work, does the holiday already feel like a distant memory? Suddenly, everything on your to-do list feels urgent, important, and overwhelming.

I very often meet people who have progressed into glittering careers, senior positions and have done so in a forward and upward direction. They find themselves doing roles and fulfilling positions that are additive to previous roles so bigger and reaching further. So, they try harder, work longer and push more.

For me, as I contemplate the year ahead, I am seeking to achieve more, with less. Not in the usual context of less people or resource, but rather less waste of time and energy. And simply put, the waste that is draining.  Less doing and more thinking. Less pushing and more sharing. Less persuading and more asking, listening, and learning.

Senior leaders often create a reliance on themselves, it creates a sense of being needed, involved in everything, and powerful. Easing off and leaning in less might feel a bit strange at first, but it shifts accountability and ownership to others. Suddenly, you find yourself with the space to truly explore what "achieving more with less" looks like for you.

The real test is ending 2025 and starting 2026 with the sense that every moment you’ve invested has delivered maximum impact or return. It’s about knowing you’ve contributed to, or even driven, growth in others, sparked innovation with your insights and ideas, and improved something significantly by asking the right challenging questions. You might even find yourself a week into the new year feeling like you don’t immediately need another holiday!
