Employing over 9,500 employees BMI Healthcare is an independent provider of private healthcare. Handling over 1.5 million outpatient visits per year, BMI Healthcare offer treatments to private, medically insured and NHS patients. In this crucial industry, leaders need personalised and direct feedback, so they can always deliver their best.

Delivering innovative solutions

After a detailed diagnostic process, we designed an innovative ‘Leadership Moments’ programme. Its outputs provided leaders at BMI Healthcare with a unique combination of personalised development alongside shared learning with peers from across the business. Shared learning also led to actionable feedback, giving leaders the opportunity to improve.

184 senior leaders took part in the programme, which enabled them to receive direct feedback from colleagues, one-to-one coaching sessions around their responses to critical incidents and to develop a committed personal plan around their areas of improvement.

Improving leadership for better performance

We continued to work with BMI Healthcare long after the programme was put in place. We reviewed the impact five months after the programme and achieved the following results:

  • 89% of participants had used the learnings to do things differently.
  • 92% felt that what they had learned on the programme had helped them to improve their performance as a leader.
  • 75% of participants were found to be sharing the tools they had used with their immediate team.
  • 78% strongly agreed that the programme increased their confidence as a leader.
  • 71% agreed that the programme had delivered the targeted change in culture.
